Beth Harwood is a 19-year-old multi-instrumentalist and vocalist from Merseyside, who first emerged playing in her local folk scene. From performing at open mics in community cafés as a young teen, she now plays in a wide range of lineups and venues, from small acoustic events to full ensemble shows. Beth is a versatile performer, with the ability to accompany herself and others on guitar, piano, bass, and ukulele.

As a guitarist, Beth enjoys playing distinctive arrangements in a range of styles, with a focus on fingerstyle technique. In 2024, she achieved a Grade 8 Distinction in acoustic guitar, conveying her technical ability and commitment to developing her skills. Her performances often bridge genres, combining elements of folk, pop, rock, and jazz. Within her singing, Beth’s voice blends the sounds of pop and folk, allowing her to deliver emotional performances that resonate across different settings.

Her experience spans a wide array of collaborative projects. She frequently performs in Answers on a Postcard, the acoustic, harmony-focused mother-daughter duo where her live performance journey began. In addition to this, she is a guitarist in the Manor Hill Jazz Band, where she plays jazz standards and with energy and skill, and this vibrant energy is also embodied when performing with pop-rock band Inconclusive. These diverse experiences have shaped Beth into a confident, flexible musician, comfortable as both a lead vocalist and ensemble player.

Currently studying Popular Music at Leeds Conservatoire, Beth is deepening her understanding of music-making and collaborating with peers from across the UK and beyond. Here, her studies focus on performance, songwriting, and artistic development, as she begins working towards releasing her own original material.

Within her music, there is a close focus on exploring the communication of ideas through sound and story telling. Beth is dedicated to making music that resonates deeply with audiences, placing emphasis on the importance of establishing a connection in both recorded tracks and live performance.
